JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant
REPORTS TO: Controller
FUNCTION: Responsible for the month end financial cycle, which includes thorough experience in reconciliations and journal entry preparation for all accounts. Prepares, examines and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, balance sheet and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Evaluates the internal controls of the organization and provides constructive feedback for improvements. In addition to the month end financial cycle, performs various projects, support and reporting throughout the year, e.g., assistance on the Financial Audit, A-133 Audit, 403b Audit, Tax Form 990, Annual Budget, medical practice management software reports on revenue/cost, inventory reporting, property tax returns, etc.
Essential Functions:
Prepares and posts payroll, fringe benefits and all other monthly journal entries to general ledger entry.
Calculates and posts deposits to accounting software database.
Insurance and Medicaid payments
Grant and miscellaneous payments
Development payments
Analyzes and reconciles all balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
Maintains and reconciles fixed assets.
Analyzes and prepares monthly funding transfers to and from General Operating.
Prepares internal financial statements and customizes various financial statements as needed.
Prepares individual clinic site and other miscellaneous income and expenses statements as requested by other departments.
Reconciles Raisers Edge transactions (development software) to Fundware transactions.
Responsible for reconciliation of all general operating agency bank accounts. Verify all deposits are accurate and in the proper accounts.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting with 4-7 years accounting or related experience. Specific experience with not-for-profit accounting, desired.
Software applications:
Proficient with Excel, required.
Experience with Fund ware and/or Adaptive Planning desired.
